Welcome to Kenwood Forest

Kenwood Forest is a unique neighborhood in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Although clearly built in the same era, its townhouses vary to a great
extent in their facades and rooflines—adding architectural interest to this
superbly located, yet reasonably priced community.

Kenwood Forest properties were originally rental apartments built by the
Federal Government after World War II to provide accommodations for
some of the large numbers of veterans who flocked to the DC area after
completing their service. At that time, each building consisted of four
2-bedroom apartments—some with basements, some not. Once housing for
veterans was no longer an issue, residents of the DC Metropolitan Area
continued to rent the 650+ units for many years.

By the 1970s, Kenwood Forest’s transformation to its current day chic had
begun and the property was converted into townhouses of differing sizes.
Today there are four distinct floorplans (which can be viewed on this
site.) The community provides a balance of owner-occupied and rental
housing — all of it well situated, well maintained and well priced.
